What is Email Spoofing?

In Simple word  email spoofing means internet attacker send e-mail to you by using others name or others details (Ex. your bank name), it is  the forgery of an e‑mail header.

Any signs to identify Email Spoofing?

Yes, Lets take example of Bank Email.

1.Check Subject Line of email and Content -They do not match.
2.Beware of urgent or threatening language in the subject line – which invokes a sense of urgency or fear
3.Check the salutation –
Bank will often use a personal salutation with your first and last name.
4.Don’t believe everything you see – Just because an email has convincing brand logos, language, and a seemingly valid email address, does not mean that it’s legitimate.

What i do if i get this type email?

Do not download or open any attachment in such e‑mails as they might carry virus.
Do not click on the URL in an e‑mail unless you are absolutely sure that the e-mail is legitimate.
Do not respond to emails when you are unsure about the sender of the mail.
Do not just delete these e-mails. Instead, draw them to the attention of police officials.
